Programs for students from various backgrounds — from foundational certificate studies to graduate theology. All fully online, all zero tuition for qualifying students.
Required for all online students before beginning your first course. Orients you to the WWES academic system, Moodle platform, and study routines for online theological education, while also introducing biblical hermeneutics and the philosophy of context-embedded theological learning. Qualifies as an elective in all programs.
Branch students (studying through a local partner school) take PS-10002 Orientation to Biblical Studies — a separate but equivalent version designed for face-to-face cohort settings.
Foundational theological training suitable for any applicant. Comprehensive and concise: builds an effective foundation for church ministry while preparing for further studies. No ministry experience required — only an active Christian faith and the ability to study in English.
A basic theological education program for people with very little or no ministry experience and no previous undergraduate education. Students preparing for full-time ministry should apply here rather than the Certificate track.
Builds on the Diploma, adding courses that develop more professional ministry competence. With appropriate local mentoring a graduate can be prepared for associate or lead pastor responsibilities. Direct application is not permitted — entry is through the Diploma track.
† The internship and capstone courses (MI-10105 through MI-30210) form the BTh capstone track — a structured pathway for field-based learning, project work, and institutional or ministry development. Tracks include WWES branch expansion, curriculum creation, integral mission, and church planting. These 20 credits may be taken as a single aligned capstone project for qualified students.
Designed for persons with a previous undergraduate degree in a non-theological subject. Core studies in Bible and theology equip for teaching ministry, ecclesiastical leadership, and further graduate study.
For persons with a theological undergraduate degree (BTh, BA). Equips for broad biblical-theological knowledge, teaching ministry, or further academic work. All MA courses are 3 credits (5000+ level).
For persons with a secular bachelor's or master's degree who lack the required theological undergraduate background. Requires completion of five preparatory courses (grade B+ or above) before beginning graduate-level work. Graduate courses are the same as the 48-credit MA.
Structured around Biblical Theology, Systematic Theology, and Mission and Ministry. An interim goal toward the MA degree, or a standalone achievement. Courses completed in a graduate certificate can later be applied toward a Master's degree. Graduate Certificate students apply to the MA or Extended MA program.
